Tables — Tips & Tricks
What this screen is for. Tables holds the lists that fill the dropdowns on the item and Requirements Order screens — units of measure, item groups, Gen-Loc, count groups, RO classes and company holidays.
What you do here
- Open Tables from the top bar (it is a separate permission from System Settings, so logistics can keep the lists without touching the system switches).
- One value per line in each box, then click Save tables.
- Values are sorted, de-duplicated and (for units of measure) upper-cased when you save.
- A list that has never been set shows up pre-filled with everything already in use — curate by deleting lines instead of retyping the warehouse.
- Write RO classes as
Class = QuickBooks class id, one per line. - Company holidays take a holiday name per line; the date is worked out each year automatically.
- Clear a box and save to go back to the built-in default.
- Every change lands in the Change Log with your name, old value and new value.
Watch out
- Deleting a value does not remove it from items already using it; it just stops being offered.
- A class line with no QuickBooks id can be picked but carries no class onto a posting.
- A holiday name IM2 cannot date is ignored and listed back to you — use the standard names (Mardi Gras, Memorial Day).
- System values and switches (accounts, lead times, polling, posting switches) are not here — they are on System Settings.
