Tables
Tables holds IM2's managed lists — the values behind the dropdowns on the item, cycle count and Requirements Order screens. It was split off the Settings screen on 2026-09-10 (Dave) so the lists can be maintained by logistics without handing over the system switches that write to QuickBooks. It is the Tables link in the top bar, and its own permission (Tables (managed lists)) on the Permissions screen.
How a table works
- One value per line. Click Save tables; you'll see how many lists were saved, or "Nothing changed."
- Values are sorted and de-duplicated (case-insensitively) when you save. Units of measure are also forced to capitals.
- Clear a box and save and it goes back to the built-in default.
- A list that has never been set shows pre-filled with everything actually in use, so curating means deleting lines rather than retyping the warehouse.
- Every change is written to the Change Log with your name, old value and new value.
The lists
- Units of measure — the UOM codes offered on items. Wire and conduit are FT.
- Item groups — the item group dropdown.
- Gen-Loc list — general location values.
- Count groups — the cycle-count grouping on items and on Create New Item.
- RO classes — which classes a Requirements Order may use, one per line as
Class = QuickBooks class id. Only these are offered on RO screens. The id is what postings carry, so it must match QuickBooks; a line with no id can be picked but carries no class. - Company holidays — one holiday NAME per line; the date is worked out for each year automatically, so the list never needs updating. Observed dates are used (Saturday counts as the Friday before, Sunday as the Monday after). These days are skipped by every work-day calculation: RO required dates and Purchasing Workbench delivery dates. A name IM2 cannot date is ignored and listed back to you.
Common mistakes
- Deleting a value to "clean up" while jobs still use it — it stays on those items, it just can't be picked again.
- Expecting a class change to reach QuickBooks without the id. The name is for people; the id is what posts.
- Looking here for accounts, lead times, polling or the posting switches — those are on System Settings.
