Status Chip Colors — what the colors mean
Every screen in SA Logistics shows status as a small rounded chip. The color is the same everywhere, so you can read a screen without reading every word.
| Color | Means | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Good to go — nothing is holding it up | Ready to Order, Open |
| Blue | Done and handed off — a PO exists | Ordered, Completed, Released |
| Amber | Waiting on somebody — action needed | Pending Count, In Process, Counting |
| Red | Stop / problem | Cancelled, Error, Deleted in QB, Rush |
| Grey | Out of play, kept for the record | Dropped |
| Slate (plain) | A status with no color assigned yet | anything new |
Reading tips:
- Green and blue need nothing from you. Amber is your work queue; red needs a decision.
- A slate chip is not a bug in your data — it means a new status word reached the screen before it was given a color. Report it and it gets added.
- Colors never replace the words. Every chip still spells the status out, so it reads correctly in black and white printouts and for anyone who has trouble telling the colors apart.
- The same status is always the same color on every screen — the Buy List index, the Buy List itself, Requirements Orders, the PO screens and the reports all draw from one list.
Buy List statuses in particular
- Ready to Order (green) — everything on the list is settled; it can go to purchase orders.
- Pending Count (amber) — at least one line is waiting on a physical count.
- Ordered (blue) — the list has been released and PO numbers are recorded against it.
- Cancelled (red) — cancelled, still readable, nothing on it can be edited.
- Line level: Pending Count (amber), Dropped (grey), otherwise Ready to Order (green).
