Rush Alert Contacts

This is the list of people who get a text message when a field tech sends a Rush request from the handheld. Get to it from the Settings screen — the Open Rush Alert Contacts button. Admins only. ← Settings at the top takes you back.

How the alert actually works

When a tech sends a Rush request, IM2 creates the Rush Requirements Order first and only then tries to tell anyone. Two separate alerts, controlled on Settings:

The message reads like: RUSH RO 799013 — Smith residence — 3 lines — vendor: Elliott — from Mike Ledet.

An alert never holds up or cancels a Rush request. If Slack or the texting service is down, the Rush order still exists and still shows on the Purchasing Workbench — you just won't get pinged. Never treat a text as proof the request went through; the Workbench is the truth.

Adding someone

  1. Type the Name and Phone in the boxes at the top.
  2. Click Add. You'll see Added. and the list reloads.

Type the phone any normal way — 504-555-1212, (504) 555 1212, 15045551212. It is stored as +15045551212. Anything that isn't a 10-digit US number (or 11 starting with 1) is refused with a plain message.

Changing or switching someone off

Each row has editable Name and Phone boxes and an Active tick box. Change what you need and click Save on that row — you'll see saved.

There is no delete. Untick Active and save instead: the person stops getting texts, but old alert history still reads sensibly. Inactive rows show greyed out and sort to the bottom.
