Purchasing Workbench — Tips & Tricks
What this screen is for. Review items needing purchase and build a buy list to hand off for manual PO entry.
What you do here
- Open the PO Workbench tile from the Logistics Main Menu.
- Filter by vendor, RO number, date range or priority, then click Apply.
- Toggle chips like Below min only, Include 0 to order or Rush only as needed.
- Review Qty to Order, adjusting the number on any row if needed.
- Check Vendor and Delivery fields, especially rows flagged with the no-vendor warning.
- Check CC? if the item needs a physical count before buying, or uncheck it.
- Check Buy? on rows to include, then click Save buy list.
- Click a Req Qty, On PO or Qty on Buy Lists number to see what's driving demand.
Watch out
- Save buy list does not send anything to QuickBooks - POs are still keyed in by hand.
- A vendor warning means no usual vendor is on file; verify before buying.
- On hand and On PO snapshots can be up to two minutes old; reload for fresh data.
- Rush rows always show even at 0 to order unless already covered - check before assuming it's needed.
