Pick Review & Posting — Tips & Tricks
What this screen is for. Review picked material and post it, moving inventory out and onto the job in QuickBooks.
What you do here
- Open the Pending tab and review each row's RO #, Job/BOM, Lines and Ext. cost.
- Click the RO # to expand lines and check SKU, quantity required vs picked.
- Reload the list if a red bar appears showing a picker changed something.
- Fix a wrong quantity by typing the corrected number on a line before posting.
- Set the class on the pick if a post error shows no class was found.
- Tick the rows to post (or leave defaults) and click Post selected, or use post on a single row.
- Confirm the post when prompted.
- Use Discard or Discard selected to void a pick without posting it.
- Check the Posted tab for document numbers once a session posts successfully.
Watch out
- Ext. cost is not net — returns add to the total instead of subtracting, so don't read it as a net dollar effect.
- Entering 0 on this screen removes the line from the pick, it does not drop the requirement — that needs a zero-drop on the pick screen.
- A post error pill means QuickBooks refused it; fix the cause before reposting or it will fail again.
- Discarding never frees material — only posting actually moves stock; discarding several at once is all-or-nothing.
