Item Master Display — Tips & Tricks
What this screen is for. Maintain warehouse details (location, manufacturer, min/max, counting) for every stock item created in QuickBooks.
What you do here
- Open Item Master Display & Maintenance from the Logistics Main Menu or the Item Maintenance link.
- Type a SKU, name or description in the search box and press Enter, or use Gen-Loc, Group, Manufacturer dropdowns to filter.
- Click a round chip like Needs a bin, No manufacturer, No UOM or Changed today to find cleanup work.
- Click a column heading to sort, or use First/Previous/Next/Last and Go to page to move through 200-item pages.
- Click into an editable field (UOM, Manufacturer, Mfr Part #, Group, Gen-Loc, Primary Bin, Secondary Bin, Min, Max, Lead Time, Count Group, ABC, Notes), type, then click away or Tab to save.
- Tick checkboxes on multiple rows, choose a field and value in the blue bar, and click Apply to selected for bulk edits.
- Click Export to download a spreadsheet of exactly what's on screen.
- Click history at the end of a row to review who changed what and when.
Watch out
- Grey, non-typeable fields are either QuickBooks-locked or above your access level — not a bug.
- You cannot edit On Hand; count the item on the handheld to correct QuickBooks instead.
- If an item seems missing, clear search, dropdowns and chips before assuming it doesn't exist.
- Max must not be lower than Min, and bins/ABC always save in capitals automatically.
