Item Display & Bin Lookup / Cycle Count (handheld) — Tips & Tricks
What this screen is for. Look up an item's stock, location and bin, or count it for cycle counting, via handheld scanner.
What you do here
- Open the Handheld Menu and tap Item Display & Bin Lookup, or Cycle Count if counting.
- Scan the item's SKU barcode into the top box, or type it and tap Go.
- Check the item card for Description, On hand quantity, Gen-Loc, Manufacturer and Count group.
- Scan or type the correct value into Primary bin or Secondary bin, then tab out or press Enter to save.
- On Cycle Count, type what you actually counted into Counted quantity.
- Tap Save count and check the green line for counted, on-hand, and variance figures.
- Check Recent counts to see the last five counts and which are unposted.
- Tap Menu when finished to return to the handheld menu and clear the job.
Watch out
- Counting the same SKU again before it posts replaces the earlier count, not adds to it.
- On-hand won't change after saving a count — it only updates once posted on Cycle Count Review.
- Negative quantities are refused; enter 0 for a true zero count.
- Closing the browser mid-edit on a bin field saves nothing — you must tab out or press Enter first.
