Main Menu & Handheld Menu — Operator Guide
Two front doors into SA Logistics. The Logistics Main Menu is the desktop one; the Handheld Menu is the short version for scanners and phones. Bookmark whichever one you live in — everything else is one tap from there.
Logistics Main Menu
Sign in first; if you're not signed in you get the login screen and land back here. Tiles are grouped:
- Shortcuts — outside systems, not part of this app: QuickBooks Online, FieldPulse, Kickserv, Salesforce, BuilderTrend.
- Item Master — Item Master Display & Maintenance (the big item grid) and Create New Inventory Item.
- Inventory Transactions — row 1: Pick List (issue material to a job), Pick Item (single SKU), Pick Review & Posting. Row 2: Cycle Count (enter a count), Cycle Count Review & Post, Inventory ABC Analysis. Row 3: Handheld Menu, Truck Tech Menu.
- Requirements — Requirements Orders & Material Status, RO Import Inbox (review & accept), RO Import Issues to Resolve, Create a Requirements Order. Rush Material Request is not a Main Menu tile — techs reach it from the Truck Tech Menu or the Handheld Menu.
- Purchasing — PO Workbench (first), Buy List, POs Created, PO Alerts.
- Support — row 1: Admin (Tables, System Settings, Users, Vendor Default GL), Poll/Sync Log (did the automatic FieldPulse / BuilderTrend import run, and what did it find), Contacts & Definitions, Operator & Technical Manuals (every help and technical page). Row 2: Change Log, the Decision Log, and Not Finished Yet — Open Items. The old Rollout Manual, Training Manual and Testing Issue Log tiles were removed 2026-09-26 (both manuals are now listed under Overview on the manuals index; the issue log was never used).
The coloured tags

The same key is repeated in small print under the tiles.
Links to copy (bottom of the menu)
Two read-only boxes with a Copy button, for putting a link on somebody else's device:
- Handheld Menu — open on the scanner or phone browser and bookmark it.
- Rush Material Request — the phone screen a tech uses to ask for material now; sending one posts the Slack alert to the rush contacts.
Handheld Menu
Designed for gloves and small screens: big cards, one column.
- Inventory — Cycle Count, Item Display & Bin Lookup.
- Requirements Orders — Pick List, Pick Item, Rush Material Request.
- Coming next — Stock Replenishment (not built).
- At the bottom, a link back to the full SA Logistics Main Menu.
The handheld screens deliberately carry no Help buttons — the help lives here, on the menu, so a scanner screen isn't cluttered.
Who sees what
Both menus show every tile to everybody — they are plain link pages and they do not hide anything by role. What each person can do is enforced on the screen itself:

| Level 1 | Every editable field; can resolve RO issues, post picks and post counts. |
| Level 2 | Bins, gen-loc, manufacturer, mfr part no, item group and notes; can record counts and pick. Cannot resolve RO issues or post. |
| Level 3 | View only everywhere. Edit boxes are greyed and action buttons don't appear. |
So a level 3 user can open the Pick List tile — they just can't post anything from it. That isn't a fault.
Common mistakes
- Bookmarking a screen instead of the menu. Bookmark the menu; screens move.
- Using a stale copy of the menu. The menu is served by the app; if yours looks out of date, reload it rather than trusting a saved copy.
- Assuming a greyed tile is broken. "Being designed" means it doesn't exist yet.
The Menu link
Every handheld screen has a small Menu link at the top right. It takes you back to the handheld menu and forgets the job the scanner was last used on, so the next person starts clean. Use it when you finish a job rather than handing the scanner over on a live screen. Nothing you have already saved is lost.
Tile status (2026-09-06)
PO Workbench shows In review, not Live: Dave, 2026-09-06 — "PO WB tile isn't live until ROs are." It buys against RO demand, so it cannot be live ahead of Requirements Orders. The RO screens, Rush Request and the three pick screens are the same story (In review / Test only). Live today: Item Master Display, Create New Inventory Item, Handheld Menu, ABC Analysis, Change Log and the manuals.
Tags, current (Dave, 2026-09-06)
Everything that was In review now reads Test only — built, demo data, do not use it for real work. The one exception is PO Workbench, which stays In review until Requirements Orders go live. Every tile that is genuinely live carries the green Live tag, including the two manuals that were mistagged.
Ver 12 — 2026-10-02 (Dave)
Tile names shortened to one line: Item Master, New Item, Pick List, Pick Item, Pick Review, Cycle Count, Count Review, ABC Analysis, Req. Orders, RO Inbox, RO Issues, New RO, Buy Lists, POs Created, PO Alerts ⚠ (icon always shown; red count when alerts are open), Create PO, Contacts/Defs, Manuals, Change Log, Open Items. Tag Test only now reads Test. Tile names never wrap (.nm nowrap + ellipsis). Follow-up same day: Contacts/Definitions, Requirements Orders, Development To Do (was Open Items).
Poll/Sync Log counter (Ver 13, 2026-10-23): the red number on the Poll/Sync Log tile is errors today / last 7 days — e.g. 3/9 means 3 errors today and 9 in the past week. It counts every source on the log (FP and BT intake polls, QB nightly sync, FP item sync). Open the tile to see what failed.
Main Menu Ver 15 (2026-10-24): new first section Accounting with the Vendor tile (opens the vendor file, Test). Pick Item and Pick Review are now Live. The Handheld Menu and Truck Tech Menu tiles were removed from Inventory Transactions (still under Links to copy).
- Ver 16 (2026-10-24): Handheld Menu tile (Inventory Transactions) and Truck Tech Menu tile (Support) now Live tiles; Accounting tile renamed Vendor Master.
