IM2 asks for two things: your work email and a numeric PIN.
- Type your work email — the same address the company uses for you.
- Type your PIN.
- Click Sign in. You land on Item Maintenance.
If either one is wrong you get one message: Email or PIN not recognised. It is deliberately vague — it never tells anyone whether the email exists. Check the email first (it's the usual mistake, not the PIN).
Getting a PIN
You cannot set your own. An admin — Alex Tipton or Dave Cantin — sets or regenerates it on the Users screen, and passes it to you. It is a 4–8 digit number. The screen says so too: No PIN? Ask Alex Tipton or Dave Cantin to set one for you.
If you forget it, nobody can look it up — an admin generates a new one and your old number stops working straight away.
Staying signed in
- Signing in leaves you signed in on that device for 30 days, and every visit does not push that out — it is 30 days from when you signed in.
- It is per device and per browser. Signing in on the warehouse PC does not sign you in on your phone.
- Sign out is in the top right of every screen. Use it on any shared PC or handheld — otherwise the next person is you as far as IM2 is concerned, with your access level.
- Getting a new PIN does not sign your other devices out.
- If your account is switched off on the Users screen, you're kicked out immediately, everywhere.
- After a system update you may find yourself back at this screen. That's normal — just sign in again.
What you can see once you're in
What you can do depends on your access level, shown next to your name in the top right (admin / level1 / level2 / level3). If a screen or a field looks missing or greyed out, that's your level, not a fault. Ask an admin.
Common mistakes
- Using a personal email address. IM2 only knows the work address in the company directory.
- Sharing a PIN. Every edit is recorded against the person whose PIN was used — you own whatever gets typed under your login.
- Bookmarking a page and expecting it to open after 30 days. You'll be sent here first; sign in and go again.
"This request did not come from the IM2 site"
If you ever see that message, the screen you posted from was not opened from IM2 — usually a very old tab, a saved copy of a page, or a link from outside. Go back to the menu, open the screen again and retry. Nothing was saved.
